Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB), our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer. Begin your exciting Bhutanese adventure with a 4-hour (167 km) drive to Phuentsholing, passing through numerous tea estates of Bengal and the wildlife sanctuaries of Gorumara and Jaldapara. You'll check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast, complete your immigration formalities before transferring to Thimphu (7,710 ft.), the vibrant capital city of Bhutan. The drive covers 184 km and takes approximately 4.5 hours. Once in Thimphu, you'll check into your hotel. In the evening, you'll visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong, an important fortress and monastery. Your overnight stay will be in Thimphu.
After breakfast, embark on a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu valley. This includes visits to the majestic Buddha Point, home to the world's largest sitting Buddha, the engaging Simply Bhutan Museum, and the Takin Zoo. In the afternoon, you'll revisit Tashichhodzong, the "fortress of the glorious dharma," which serves as the center of government and religion, housing the King's throne room and the seat of the Chief Abbot. Built in 1641 and reconstructed in 1961 without nails or architectural plans, it's a marvel of traditional Bhutanese design. You'll also visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, continuously circumambulated by devotees, and have the opportunity to browse the Handicrafts Emporium and local shops for traditional Bhutanese arts, textiles, paintings, and unique crafts. In the evening, you'll proceed to Punakha (approx. 75km / 3 hours), the old capital of Bhutan, for your overnight stay.
The morning begins with a visit to Punakha Dzong, also known as Pungthang Dewa chhenbi Phodrang. Built in 1637–38 by Ngawang Namgyal, it's the second oldest and largest dzong in Bhutan, renowned as one of its most majestic structures, and you'll also see the nearby Suspension Bridge.aYou'll also hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a Buddhist monastery built in 1499, blessed by the "Divine Madman" Drukpa Kunley. After lunch, you will proceed for a full day to Paro (123km / 4 hrs). En route, you'll visit Dochu La Pass (3150masl), which often experiences snowfall depending on the weather, and offers a magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayan range on clear winter days. Your overnight stay will be in Paro.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
After breakfast, a highlight of your trip awaits: a hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff face and known as "Tiger’s Nest." This hike typically takes about 2 hours from the base camp but is optional if you prefer not to. Later, you'll visit Drukgyel Dzong and the ancient Kyichu Monastery. Your overnight stay will be in Paro.
Following breakfast, you will drive back to Phuentsholing (190 km / 6 hrs). Before departing Paro, you'll have the opportunity to visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum, which houses an excellent collection of arts, relics, and religious thangkhas. You'll also explore Rinpung Dzong, meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels," which serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro. In the afternoon, you will complete the drive to Phuentsholing for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and be transferred to IXB Airport for your onward journey.
